Tagbilaran City (Bohol Trip Part 3 Day 1))

Because I like rustic little cities, I like Tagbilaran. Like old cities, its church or cathedral is near its provincial capitol and it has a little plaza in between. However our tour driver told us, the city is planning to build a new modern provincial capitol.

We did not see a lot of taxis, jeepneys, or tricycles going around - we thought maybe because it was Sunday. But our driver confirmed that it is true - they don't have a lot of taxis or jeepneys plying around in the main city roads.

Wow! That is why there is never a problem of traffic. Then we bought take-out Jollibee for breakfast before we began our tour (yes, they do have Jollibee and McDonald's too!).

Just a few minutes later, as we were moving out to drive towards Baclayon, there was a very noticeable change from little city to a rustic town. But look at the roads, they are very good.

Along the way, we can see a medley of very old houses and very new ones. The beautiful new mansions are owned by Boholanos who have gone and worked abroad, or Boholanas who have married foreigners. We just wish owners of old houses will try to preserve their legacy.
